Pretty Quick Eh?
Why did I write LANSI.EXE ??
I run a BBS and use THEDRAW to create ANSI screens for my menu's.
THEDRAW is (in my opinion) the best drawing tool for ANSI screens
(text screen). But I was tired of typing "TYPE MAIN.ANS ... TYPE
MAIN12-53.ANS ... Etc" so I wanted a program (kind of like VPIC) to
be able to simply display an ansi screen by using some kind of menu.
Then returning back to the menu after the screen is displayed.
How to run LANSI.EXE
Simply put LANSI in a path on your DOS directory (in the DOS
directory). Then enter another directory which contains (.ANS)
files. Just run LANSI in that directory and you will have a screen
with a scrollable window. Scroll through the listing and hit enter
on the screen you would like displayed. Then hit any key to get back
to the menu. (simple Hugh ?)
Well that's it !!! Give it a shot... This program is most helpful for sysops
with a large array of ANS files.
WHAT IS IN THE FUTURE....
I'm thinking of writing a more complex version of LANSI which will
enable conversion of screen formats, Scrollable ansi window (kind of
like LIST.COM). Color changing.. etc..
Money ? :: Don't send any. (although if you do I'll be more than
happy to accept !! <grin>) but seriously... Just leave me comments
and let me know how you like it !!
